Bushwhack Open Studio with Ensemble Mise En: Music of Ramon Zupko, John Gibson, Robert Carl Oct. 2nd
Ensemble mise-en members Sam Nester, Elizabeth Martignetti, and Mark Broschinsky present works for brass and electronics at mise-en place in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
The concert will take place on October 2, 2016 and will be part of the Arts in Bushwick Open Studio Program. Featured composers include J. Mark Stambaugh (The Armed Man: 15 Variations for Trumpet, Horn, and Trombone), and American Composers Alliance members Ramon Zupko (Fluxus 6, for Trumpet and Tape; and Fluxus 10 for Horn and Tape), plus John Gibson's Out of Hand for Trumpet, Trombone, and Computer and Changing My Spots (for improvisation ensemble) by Robert Carl.

Scott Miller - new works for flutes and electronics, with rarescale, UK premiere Sept. 6th
Scott L. Millers Anterior/Interior and The Frost Performs its Secret Ministry will be performed by rarescale at The Forge, Camden, UK on Sept 6. On September 7, Scott Miller and flutist/improviser Carla Rees will premier Millers ISLANDs at the Kyma International Sound Symposium (KISS) at DeMontfort University, Leicester, UK.
In addition, Scott Miller (Kyma) and Carla Rees (Kingma System Flutes) will demonstrate contemporary and traditional flutes, electronic improvisation systems, and the potential for collaboration and innovation with guest artists Julin Elvira and Katsuya Nonaka at IKLECTIK in London, UK.
rarescale is a flexible-instrumentation contemporary chamber music ensemble, formed by alto and bass flute specialist Carla Rees in 2003. Using between 1 and 12 players, the ensemble has a particular commitment to the work of emerging composers and the creation of chamber music repertoire for alto and bass flutes. The group performs frequently in the UK and abroad and collaborates with a number of composers internationally.
Scott Miller is a composer of electroacoustic, orchestral, chamber, choral and multimedia works described as high adventure avant garde music of the best sort (Classical-Modern Music Review) and inspir[ing] real hope & optimism for the future of electroacoustic music. Known for his interactive electroacoustic chamber music and ecosystemic performance pieces, Miller has twice been named a McKnight Composer Fellow, he is a Fulbright Scholar, and his work has been recognized by numerous international arts organizations. Recordings are available on New Focus Recordings, Panoramic, Innova, Eroica, CRS, rarescale and SEAMUS, and his music is published by ACA (American Composers Alliance), Tetractys, and Jeann.
Richard Cameron-Wolfe - Ukraine tour begins June 2nd, Kiev performance June 6th
Richard Cameron-Wolfes Breathless band (cantata ensemble) Ukraine tour begins Thursday, performing June 2 in the Hall of the Kharkov Philharmonic (in an Eastern Orthodox cathedral), June 4 in the Zhitomir National Cosmonautics Museum (a Sputnik suspended high above the performers), and June 6 in the Hall of the Kiev Union of Composers. Twenty-one outstanding Ukrainian performers will be involved in these concerts: 3 singers, 16 instrumentalists, an actor, and a Butoh dancer.
