Darleen Mitchell, new piano trio premiere, Sept. 7
The Space of Elsewhere, a new piano trio by Darleen Mitchell will be premiered at the Great Plains New Music Festival at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, on September 7. The Frahm-Lewis Trio, resident piano trio at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, will perform.Ting-Lan Chen (violin), Noah Rogoff (cello), and Nathan Buckner (piano). Also on the program is a performance of Mitchell's Three Walt Whitman Songs, sung by Baritone Andrew White with the composer accompanying on piano.

Piano music of David Liptak and more, at The San Francisco International Piano Festival - this year again at the Empress Theatre by popular demand after last seasons thrilling debut concerts. Now in its 3rd season, the Festival has quickly become one of the most exciting and engaging musical events in the Bay Area and has attracted international attention through its world class artists, unique programming, and friendly rapport between performers and audience. Pianist Eunmi Ko created a sensation during last years festival and returnson August 22nd to perform music of the cosmos: George Crumbs Makrokosmos Book II (selections) and David Liptaks complete Constellations.
