A work of moderate difficuly originally written for an advanced high school orchestra. Has also been performed by college and community orchestras. The individual variations contrast sharply from each other in tempo, character, and rhythmic complexity. No exended performance techniques. Tutti orchestration is employed in just two of the inner variations, and for the last part of the coda.
