FOUR PRELUDES

FOUR PRELUDES

brass qrt 2-1-1

Four preludes for brass quartet is an earlier interpretation of the same poem of T.S. Eliot as my woodwind quintet of 1979. This is a briefer and far less difficult work than the latter one, having been written for a high school brass quartet. The movements are alternately slow and fast and make extensive use of mutes. Suitable for advanced high school through college performers.

Written under a Ford Foundation MENC Composer Grant.

Movements: 4.0

Authored (or revised): 1962
