Composer's note (excerpt): This piece was initially intended for Soprano Saxophone. Back in the late 2000's, when I was finishing my undergraduate degree in Jazz Composition and struggling to find opportunities as a composer. My roommate at that time was a classical saxophonist and asked if I would be willing to write him a solo piece. I had almost zero experience composing within the realm of concert music back then, but the request sounded like an interesting challenge.
