Say That Geography Is Destiny

Say That Geography Is Destiny

Clarinet and Piano

Composer's Note:

The titles of these pieces, along with the main title, are quotations from the novel Vigil Harbor, by Julia Glass. They are part of the description of the novel's setting, a peninsula in Massachusetts, that has an intense effect on its inhabitants. The pieces are similarly shaped by these chosen phrases, relating to aspects of a "promontory, headland, bluff."
