When the Moon of Wildflowers is Full

When the Moon of Wildflowers is Full

Flute and Cello

Composer's Note:

When the Moon of Wildflowers is Full, for flute and cello, was composed for the wedding of dear friends that took place in a beautiful meadow in high summer in Aspen, CO, where I was a composition student at the Aspen Music Festival in the summer of 1973. The music has a light, Renaissance dance-like quality, interpreted in a contemporary vein. My experiences at the Aspen Music Festival opened the door to a life in music, and to ongoing joy in its creation, and the occasion and setting called forth this pastoral response.
