Hoodoos

Hoodoos

Two Percussionists

Composer's Note:

Hoodoos (also known as tent rocks, fairy chimneys, and earth pyramids) are tall, thin spires of rocks that raise from the bottom of an arid drainage basin. Hoodoos, which range from 1.5 to 45 metres (4.9 to 147.6 ft) and typically consist of relatively soft rock topped by harder, less easily eroded stone that protects each column from rapid erosion. Hoodoos was composed at the request of Duo Sá de Percussão, Pedro and Janaína Sá, from Brazil.
