Composer's Note:

"Walkers with the Dawn" is a setting and celebration of Langston Hughes and his poetry. It was commissioned by Rivers School, and was premiered at Jordan Hall by the Rivers School choir and orchestra. The 2017 premiere featured soloist baritone Robert Honeysucker and narrator Lois Shapiro.
