Composer's Note:

"A Robert Lowry Reader" is a cycle of four songs, settings of hymn texts by Robert Lowry. The cycle was commissioned by soprano Jayne West, who sang the orchestral version of the first song, "At The River," with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra. All four songs were premiered by Leanne Estabrook, soprano, Nicholas Brewer, piano at the Longy School of Music in 2016.
