Three Swift Pieces for Young Pianists

Three Swift Pieces for Young Pianists

Piano

Composed for the Cleveland Composers Guild's Creativity Through Learning Project in 2020, 2021, and 2024, each short piece was composed for a young pianist with their interests in mind to help them grow as pianists. L.G. and E.K., both equestrians, worked to develop their facility with certain techniques in the first two movements, while Japanese-American S.U. explored elements of Japanese traditional music in the final movement.

Movements: I. Eventing on a Black Horse for L.G. (4:00) II. Horsing Around for E. K. (3:15) III. Swift Arrow for S. U. (3:40)
