Composer's Note:

I wrote Elegy No. 1 in memory of Willie (my dear colleague, Marianne "Willie" Finckel). The two other Elegies followed quickly, during a period of intense composing in the Fall of 2007 that also yielded Piano Sonatas Nos. 2 and 3, and "Nostalgic Pieces". The Elegies can be played together or individually.
