This orchestration is a substantially literal adaptation of the original work for piano solo. Godfrey Winham's original work for piano solo reveals slight alterations in melodic details of the melody originally composed in the mid-1850's and known today as one of the most widely performed, recorded, and broadcast songs throughout the world.
