Composer's Note:

The Mixer is 6 minutes long. It has many sections, and it might have been longer, but it’s a Single. Singles in pop music have been a standard practice for decades. The singles I have written aim to be “new music singles.” They are one movement long, with limited duration, and have titles that allude to the nature of the music. The Mixer refers to the type of person who puts mingling with others as a high priority for the pure purpose of doing so, not for financial, sexual, or other gains, but solely for social benefit. The piece ends suddenly and quietly.
