Veni Sancte Spiritus ("Come Holy Spirit") reflects the composer's ongoing interest in the plainsong setting of the German Baroque composer Samuel Scheidt. The piece follows the divisions of the plainsong on which it is based and incorporates many older techniques such as organum, faux bourdon and fugal writing.
