SEVEN PIECES FOR A MODERN BOY
SEVEN PIECES FOR A MODERN BOY
Piano Solo
Editor's Note:
Carlos Rausch's Seven Pieces for a Modern Boy entwines militaristic worries and Atomic Age futurism with standard notation, enhanced by selective graphic use. Several pieces use specific types of graphic notation, some of which has become standard today. 2 [Imaginative Boy] uses beam shaping and clusters; 3 [Searching the Space] used proportional notation, and a different cluster notation; 5 [War Dance In Mars] uses a form of box notation (without the boxes), in what I like to call a build-a-bear way.
