Groznjan Souvenir for wind quintet
Woodwind Quintet
Composer's Note:
Grožnjan Souvenir for wind quintet is a work in one movement. The title refers to my stay in Groznjan, Croatia, a medieval Istrian town, where in the summer months the little streets and squares metamorphose into an artistic beehive. I was invited there in the summer of 1999 for a music seminar as a guest of the Zagreb Music Academy. I dedicated the piece to the fine musicians and good friends I had the fortune of meeting that summer: Frano, Zlatko, Zrinka, Volker, Vieko, Jerko, Boris, and Gorjana.
