By Verse Distills, three songs on sonnets by William Shakespeare was commissioned by the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association and premiered at their convention on November 4, 1989. Mr. Perlongo says of the work, "I conceived the songs as chamber music with the voice as an integral part of the quartet. My aim was to sound the meaning, the experience and the ecstasy, behind, around and through the words.
