Composer's note: The Love of God takes full advantage of F.M. Lehman's well known song from 1917. Less well known is the fascinating origin of Vs. 3 of the song: It turns out that this venerable text originated over 1,000 years ago with a rabbi in Italy. The expansive, eternal nature of that text is given its full due in this poetic arrangement.
