Dorothy Rudd Moore » Little Whimsy
Little Whimsy
Little Whimsy
Piano
Editor's Note:
Written in response to the comment that her music was "too serious," "A Little Whimsy" is a deliberate departure from the compositional style Dorothy Rudd Moore displayed in masterpieces like From the Dark Tower. The lighthearted, jaunty opening idea is juxtaposed with (and rudely interrupts) a lyrical waltz theme, creating a humorous effect. With numerous articulations and pedal markings that require focused attention to detail, "A Little Whimsy" is more demanding than it appears.
This piece is suitable for advanced intermediate pianists.
