Composer's Note:
In Monterey Sentinels, I tried to convey the mood of Joaquin Turner’s painting of the same name, aurally conjuring up the same feeling that the painting creates visually. Somewhat programmatic in nature, the music begins with a wispy melody in the trees, slides down the trunks to roll around in the ocean, then climbs back up to climax in the sky.
