Composer's Note:

The word "bricolage' first surfaced to me when we were living in Belgium. While we knew some French and could read many ads that came our way in the mail, the multi-page ads titled "bricolage' added another dimension to our French. As we looked over the multi-page flyer, we saw that it advertised tools for DIY projects! It's a hardware store! I later saw the word used in literature, as "the chaotic bricolage" or creation from a diverse range of available things. Other definitions I found include "construction (as of a sculpture or structure of ideas) achieved by using whatever comes to hand." So, the term has been used in critiquing the arts -- in literature and visual arts -- so why not apply it to music

Part of the word "bricolage' includes "colage' or "collage', which refers to an artistic composition made of various materials. That really describes my piece! My composition includes many diverse melodic/harmonic motives from many of my compositions! And hopefully, my DIY project of "found' musical objects makes interesting musical sense!
("Chaotic' doesn't have to be pejorative!)
The instruments used in this piece may vary, and any instrument (wind/string/brass or keyboard-keyboard percussion) may be used that fits the range. Ranges are: 1. Db4 -- Bb6, 2. Bb3 -- G6, 3. Ab3 -- F6, 4. Db2 -- G#4, 5. Bb2 -- C#5. Some patterns are to be repeated, indicated by the wavy line, but may also be slightly altered.
