Composer's Note:
Lovely Little Monster is full of energy, at once physically uncoordinated yet beautifully graceful. Straining to be heard, yet frustrated by attempts to articulate complex thoughts, the physical gesture is found to be the most direct means of communication. Ultimately, peace.
Lovely Little Monster can be performed with Kyma, featuring real-time electronic processing, with triggered cues using a MaxRuntime patch, or with a single WAV file of the electronic sound. In addition to the original version for trio, there are versions for solo clarinet and solo alto flute.
