Symphony No. 3

Composer's Note:

I began work on this symphony in February of 2019 and completed it on November 10th. This work is the shortest of the three with a duration of about 23 minutes. It is the only one that is "pre-pandemic," which may account for one of my friends remarking when he heard it that at least he found the prevailing mood to be "uplifting" and "optimistic""”descriptions which, I have to say, I have seldom heard associated with my music. As is the case with almost all of my compositions, the work has a single extended movement, and the attentive listener will find many points of reference to other previously-heard motives/thematic fragments. The symphony begins very quietly and builds to a shattering climax.
