I was a member of the band's clarinet section and also composed and arranged for the band. We toured 2 months every year for the 4 years I was enlisted in the band, during the Vietnam War. This Divertimento, along with other pieces written at the same time, was something to keep us entertained and in practice while on the road. it contains some singular difficulties related to the clarinet.
