Slipstream

Slipstream

Vibraphone and Marimba

Composer's Note:

Slipstream is an arrangement of a piece from 2002 originally scored for flute, guitar, and mallet percussion.

The fast, repeated note figures found at the outset of this piece are the source of all of the music to follow. These motives undergo various changes in metabolism, altering the character of the music, before resuming their initial rate and affect . They are passed from instrument to instrument, pulling the listener along as if in a current.

The original composition was written for NOISE and San Diego New Music.
