Passing of Memory was premiered in 2003 by Steven Stucky and "Ensemble X" in Ithaca, New York. An influence upon this work is found in the paintings of Gerhard Richter, especially in his paintings that are based upon photographs that are reproduced in paint and then subsequently blurred. The meaning of perception and the quality of memory are revisited.
Composed in 2003, this work was revised and edited in 2019.
