Combinations 1: THe Last Gold of Perished Stars, was first performed March 1, 1975 by Marice Stith, trumpet, Brian Israel and Christopher Rouse, percussion. The two percussion parts are divided as follows: Perc I - antique cymbals, flexatone, snare drum, tom-toms, tenor drum and vibraphone; Perc 2 - claves, triangle, woodblock, brake drum, vibraphone, timpani with antique cymbal and tam-tam. Largely traditional notation.
