trumpet in C, electronic sounds
"Time Shares," Arthur Kreiger's composition for Trumpet and Electronic Sounds, was completed in January of 2016. Trumpet and electronics often perform together suggesting the atmosphere of a conjoined music ensemble. The electronic track was realized at the Cummings Electronic and Digital Sound Studio of Connecticut College. The frequent appearance of the Harmon mute with its center stem removed, possesses an attractive metallic ring that the composer associates with a certain collection of electronic sounds. The work is scored for trumpet in "C' which affords the performer greater facility in the brilliant higher register of the instrument. "Time Shares" is dedicated to trumpeter Tom Brown.
