Garden of Peace for strings was premiered July 24, 1980 at the Aspen Music Festival with Paul Vermel conducting the sinfonia. Three days later the composer's mother passed away. It is the wish of the composer to dedicate Garden of Peace to the memory of his mother, Fannie Kelly. Garden of Peace for organ was transcribed by the composer.
