Composer's Note:
Enigma is a piece that continues a line of development that I originally explored in my Expansions pieces. There are long notes stated in the woodwinds and brasses that outline a basic harmonic structure, and the strings amplify this with melodies that become increasingly faster until a big climax in the ninth section, after which the music returns to the texture of the beginning. The title does not imply that there is a mystery to be solved by the piece, but it suggests that grasping the piece will not be simple.
