Composer's Note:

Honorable Harvest is named for and inspired by the writings of Robin Wall Kimmerer. From inception, the work would be corresponding with Bach’s Cantata number 39 and be united in performance. Threads of community, sharing, reciprocity and care, soon found their way into my musical thoughts. As if from long ago and right now, the counterpoint came in a tapestry of duets, trios and more. The continuity of sharing expands to include ancestral harmonies brought forward into a new resonance, both speaking of the hearth and reaching for new ground.

I’m honored to be commissioned by Ryan Turner for Emmanuel Music.
