Program note:

The dictionary defines homage as a ceremonial tribute that conveys professional respect or allegiance; in m mind, a solemn and formal commitment. This duo is an epitaph, in effect: a farewell to a dear fried.

The genesis for all of the material is a brief tone row based on my own name and that of my deceased friend. The overall character is generally somber, in accordance with the chosen "low" instruments.
