Anemoi Dances

Anemoi Dances

Composer's Note:

Anemoi Dances is a series of short character pieces depicting the four wind gods of Greek mythology. In addition to capturing the distinct character of each god and their associated wind "” frigid Boreas from the north, vivacious Zephyrus from the west, violent Notus from the south, and sweltering Eurus from the east, respectively "” the piece also explores the broad spectrum of timbre that single-reed wind instruments can produce, from pure pitch to pure noise. Anemoi Dances was commissioned by Duo Entre-Nous and completed in the spring of 2020.
