A virtuosic showpiece for solo clarinet exploring the possibilities for lyric playing and polyphonic projection as well as multiphonics. The three movements are: 1. Fantasia-Polifonica I, 2.Interlude (with song, based on a setting of e. e. cummings), and 3. Polifonica II-Coda. Written for Murray Colosimo with an American Music Center Commissiones Award. TESSERAE VII is the source for the later TROPES AND ECHOES for solo clarinet and orchestra or chamber ensemble.
