Tesserae III For Viola

Tesserae III For Viola

A virtuosic showpiece in three parts for viola, exploiting all the capabilities of the instrument for lyric playing, the projection of multiple lines and speeds, multiple-stops and harmonics. The first movement is a multi-voiced chaconne, the second is an interlude with formal options up to the performer, and the third is a motoric finale.

International Jury selection for the 1984 ISCM World Music Days in Canada, performed by Douglas Perry.

Movements: I. Chaconne, II. Interlude, III. Finale

Authored (or revised): 1976
