Dream Sequence

Dream Sequence

Clarinet, Cello, Marimba, Harp, and Piano

Composer's Note:

Once, while meditating, I had the experience of reaching a very quiet, joyful state. It was a wonderful thing, something that contained within it a true sense of the miraculous. Inspired by that experience, Dream Sequence begins with uncertainty and instability, restless and unsettled. We flow into a dance-like state of joy, luxurious and sensual, and fade again into wistfulness as we realize that such a state can only be temporary. The music ends optimistically: the inner joy will always be there, and will always bring with it hope and strength.
