Composer's Note:
In the Land of Wonderful Dreams (written between 1994 and 1995) evokes not so much the reality of various places throughout the United States, but the United States of my imagination, when I still lived in New Zealand. The title is borrowed from cartoonist Winsor McCay's famous cartoon strip. Each piece is connected by harmonic relationships, and the use of a chorale somewhere in each piece.
