Composer's Note:

These six préludes and fugues are intended as an entertainment. The musical joke is that none of these short works are polytonal, they are all bitonal. They combine a wide variety of influences, including quotes from Prokofiev and Satie, and the use of transcribed non-western melodies. The latter are cited in the score as they appear. Each movement is dedicated to a pianist whom I either have met, or with whom I have studied. It was written over the course of 14 years, from 2010 to 2024.
