Danses

Danses

Solo Violin

Composer's Note:

Composed in the spring of 2019, Danses for solo violin is inspired by a lithograph of the same name by Fantin-Latour. In the lithograph, the dancer holds her arms up, swaying without a care in a setting that seems as relaxed as she is. The several other figures in the lithograph appear to enjoy the dance, relaxing, as though feeling the sun on their faces. The music creates an aural impression of the scene.
