Composer's note:

As a composer, I have been inspired by James Pellerite's efforts in creating new repertoire for the Native American flute. He has combined the musical language of this ancient instrument with the classical instrumental styles. I am pleased to add my New Images to his impressive list of compositions for solo Native American flute. While I have included techniques common to the Native American flute, a new direction in melodic and harmonic structures has been pursued for a contemporary sound. Additionally, the chromaticisms also serve to contrast the pentatonic flavor of the Native American flute.
