Composer's Note:
The subtitle describes this piece as "a refracted transcription of the second movement from Bach's Harpsichord Concerto No. 1 in D minor." Much of the material, especially the solo line, is unchanged from Bach's original. However, the music has been "refracted" through the marimba "lens," with dissonant doublings and prolongations, register changes, excisions, and the layering of several segments of the solo line on top of one another.
