A virtuosic bi-modal work, each hand responsible for a separate six-note pitch-set. Framed by Toccata I and Toccata II, its central Passacaglia is a potentially-infinite minimalist spiral of subtly-transforming repetition.
It is intended as an evocation of the spirit of Kapell's playing - not with allusions to his repertory, but rather by the emulation of his unique way of playing through that repertory.
