Heretic (Micro-Opera For Guitarist - 2023 Version)

Heretic (Micro-Opera For Guitarist - 2023 Version)

Guitar (With Speaking and Brief Singing)

Composer's Note:

This is a new version, substantially revised and edited by guitarist-composer Marc Wolf - a re-visioning of the original 2017 micro-opera, reflecting a radically different portrait of its protagonist (antagonist?). As with the earlier version, it is a technically-demanding solo guitar work - embedded in an intense psycho-drama of disillusionment and alienation. The guitarist is frequently called-upon to speak (rhythmically or freely) and there is a brief passage of singing.

Authored (or revised): 2023

First performance: Kharkiv, Ukraine on April 26, 2012 by Sergii Gorkusha, guitarist.
