Created as a study for Movement III of the composer's orchestral work ARQ (inspired in part by the "Book of Revelation"), this chamber work traces a journey from conflict to refuge to resolution. It contains an "anti-cadenza" for the violinist, moving - through a set of of disintegrating variations - from maximum density to sparse simplicity.
