Composer's Note:

...written for and dedicated to violinist Daniel Kobialka, my friend and colleague with whom I collaborated on several recording projects in San Antonio. His playing and composing was, and is, an inspiration for me, as well as his many stories of his work through the years with so many great conductors and musicians. Daniel passed away in 2021 before he had the opportunity to perform the piece in public, and I will miss him greatly.
The title is an answer to the title of an earlier clarinet work, whose title comes from a poem by Robert Graves.
