orch: 3/pic-3/eh-3/Eb, bcl-3/cbsn; 4-3-3/btbn-1; timp; perc (3); pf/cel; hp; str; tape

This work represents an "Adieux" at the turn of the millenium, though its structural use of musicla quotes from European and American sources. A lighthouse as a metaphoric beacon provides the program for the first movement. The second movement is Burlesque on a theme by Johann Stamitz (The composer honors Mannheim through the usage; she returns to Mannheim each spring.) An Elegia concludes the work, with the radiant lighthouse ance more brought to mind in an incantation.
