Composer's Note:

Inspired by a trip to Singapore and Borneo in 2000, this work was composed for and premiered by a sextet of couples from the Arkansas Symphony who were founding members of Pinnacle Players, a conductorless ensemble.

Timpani parts for the first and fifth movements, as supplemented by the premiere timpanist Rick Dimond, are available in manuscript upon request.
