Afro-Fugues are jazz derived and jazz influenced fugues in three parts for piano. Like their predecessors, the Afro-Inventions, they are designed to continue the technical development of young pianists who are interested in becoming professional jazz pianists. They were also written to introduce aspiring classical pianists to a training literature that explores the world of jazz and jazz related music.
