Gary Schneider's Orchestra for the Next Century to perform Feb. 6th at Merkin Hall

Gary Schneider's Orchestra for the Next Century will be performing a concert
as part of the 2013 ECSTATIC MUSIC FESTIVAL featuring premieres of works by
indie-classical composers Sarah Kirkland Snider, Padma Newsome and Shara
Worden. The concert is being hosted by John Schaefer of WNYC and is
being streamed live over Q2 as part of the NEW SOUNDS LIVE series.

February 6, 2013 at 7:30 @ Merkin Concert Hall, 129 W. 67th
NYC.

Orchestra for the Next Century
performs a blend of music from all time periods, with a special
emphasis on the very new. The ensemble will present concerts that are
virtuosic in execution, heartfelt in presentation and enthusiastic in
performance.

Orchestra for the Next Century
is led by award-winning conductor/composer Gary M. Schneider. A
prize-winner of the Leopold Stokowski Competition for American
Conductors, Schneider is a noted composer, an advocate and interpreter of the music
of today, and a critically acclaimed conductor of symphonic, operatic,
musical theatre, jazz and third-stream repertoire.

The orchestra's debut last year garnered rave reviews, in particular the playing of violinist Francesca Anderegg, a member of the ensemble 20>>21, "all one could say regarding Ms. Anderegg was brava, diva. This was
playing that had it all taste, mastery, sensuality. Encore, ONC, and
bis, and soon, please."

Anderegg and 20>>21 will be performing with the American Composers Alliance Composers Now! Festival on February 18, 2013 at Symphony Space Thalia.
